(FILA Global) - FILA sponsored player Ashleigh Barty and partner Coco Vandeweghe won the Women’s US Open Doubles Title Sunday afternoon in comeback fashion after defeating fellow FILA sponsored player Timea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic 3-6, 7-6(2), 7-6(6).
The win marks Barty’s first career Grand Slam Doubles Title and fourth overall title in 2018 (Miami, Rome, Montreal). She holds nine career doubles titles to date.
The duo defeated Wang/Wang, Krawczyk/Adamczack, Stycová/Hlaváčková (3), Khromacheva/Jakupović and Krejčíková/Siniaková (1), en route to knocking off the second-seeded Babos/Mladenovic for the title.
Barty and Vandeweghe came back from a set down and saved three championship points inbefore winning a dramatic third set tiebreak 8-6. Barty will move up in the WTA doubles rankings to World No. 7.
